Christmas reminds me of promises made and promises kept. Especially the promise Almighty God made in ancient times to send us His own dear Son, Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), King of the Universe, Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6). God kept this promise on EARTHTIME as seen in the story of Joseph and Mary (Mt. 1:18-2:12; Lk. 1:26-2:39). They were engaged to be married only to find out that Mary was pregnant, from SOMEONE ELSE!!! It was a shock to both of them, a shock to their families, a shock to their neighbors and friends. The Bible says Joseph felt like leaving Mary and shaming her in public. But in a dream the Angel of the Lord changed Joseph’s heart. In that dream the Archangel Gabriel revealed to Joseph and Mary that the baby was God’s own Son, the promised Messiah. God fulfilled his promise that Messiah would be born in The Virgin’s womb (Isa. 7:14). This spectacular birth was prophecy fulfilled. The birth of Jesus was a mighty sign that God can suspend the laws of nature in order to keep his promise; because nothing is impossible for God! (Luke 1:37). Merry Christmas!
