Moses instructed the fathers of every family in Israel to teach their children God’s word. Telling children about the love of God is primarily the role of Mom and Dad. The Jewish children needed awesome stories of how God brought Israel out of Egypt; how they crossed the Red Sea on dry ground; how he sent bread from heaven; how he gave them meat in the desert when they were hungry. In other words, dinner time was a good time to talk about God. God is important. There are other ways to share the Lord with our kids. I love how all my grandchildren listen to Odyssey Christian CD’s in their family vans. From Seattle to So. Cal all of
my grandchildren listen to Bible Stories and Children’s Worship songs in every Van. I even like when the kids chuckle at funny Bible names when the Bible is read on CD. They love funny names – like “Jehosaphat,” played over and over again. Good way to teach the Bible! Repetition, passion, devotion, engagement, diligence are all important ways for parents and grandparents to illustrate Bible stories to little minds, training them in the ways of the Lord (Prov. 12:6).
