After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to over five hundred witnesses at different times ( 1 Cor. 15:6). For over one month He taught on Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in His life, death and resurrection. Right before His ascension He gathered the disciples together and filled them with the Spirit of God (Jn. 20:22). He gave them powers to change the world (Mt. 28:19,20). He met Peter in Galilee, forgave his denial and called him to preach the Good News (Jn. 21:15). Later, on the road to Damascus, He appeared to Saul and radically changed his life (Acts 9:3,4).
Throughout those forty days after the resurrection He taught powerfully on the Kingdom of God. If his teaching was powerful before the resurrection imagine what it was like after. Today, our hearts are still on fire with the words of the Risen one, “Go into all the world and make disciples.”
