“…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2).
Can you believe this is the last day of 2017? You being here today shows that you are committed to finishing this year strong in Christ. It is so important to finish strong. It says a lot about who you are. Finishing what you start shows perseverance, character and determination, all good things. My dad always stressed the importance of finishing what you start, as best as you can. It’s not always possible in every situation, however, as a principle it is a good start for the believer. I have tried my best to live up to that motto. It’s not easy, but in the end, it makes me a better man, a better husband, a better dad, and a better christian. Therefore, before we roll into the new year without giving much thought to our “finish”, let’s take a moment and reflect upon the many things we started but have not yet finished. If you still have work to do in your life, on a particular project or in a promise you made, roll it into the new year. Finishing strong is what counts!
Happy New Year,
